Hi Mark, Are there any cases where you would use both MRSS and XML? Perhaps then you can take advantage of the communities using MRSS whilst pandering to Google and other search engines. Please feedback.

Yes, to your point, there are use cases where you would want to leverage both. My recommendation is to provide a XML sitemap to Google for video and leverage RSS/MRSS for your site, communities, and discovery from other sources.
