Google was displaying thumbnails of images from a blog I manage for a while, but recently removed them from results. Really fascinating developments. Anyone have an idea why they were displayed? Removed?

Thumbnails Displayed:http://www.glennfriesen.com/how-to-get-videoimage...
Thumbnails Removed: http://www.glennfriesen.com/video-image-thumbnail...

Re: Google SERPs Video Thumbnails - Not Just Youtube

Hi Mark - is your more recent post at http://www.reelseo.com/succ... a follow-up to this post? I heard it was because the platforms Google was pulling video from were losing traffic and hence ad revenue, and therefore had asked Google to stop. Perhaps something new is in place as I have noticed even more sites than in your list showing up with a video plus box

Re: Google SERPs Video Thumbnails - Not Just Youtube

Szymon,
Not sure what you mean, could you elaborate a bit?

Re: Google SERPs Video Thumbnails - Not Just Youtube

... what about link from 'Statistics' on a single video page at Youtube?
