I think its rather strange as well. I wonder if it has anything to do with the problems Youtube has had with copywrited material. If anything I would have thought they would have promoted it more, and integrated it with Youtube more.

Interesting point. I think that most people are saying it has to do with the holiday's but there are enough other reasons as you mention that leads me to believe this may be more long term than just the holidays.
