ReelSEO Video Marketing: New Study – Engaged Online Video Viewers Pay Attention To Ads

  • Brett Hill · 1 year ago
Intersting statistics on the viewing of online video. In terms of advertising, there is a bit of a mindset to overcome. People are use to viewing user generated content on sites like VEOH and YouTube--but not commercials. It is still seen as intrusive to the viewer unless they are expecting to come to a site and view commercials--pre-roll--prior to the start of the content they intended to see. Where's the incentive? It's just like television where people are expecting to see a show they are interested in but have to endure the endless commercials interprupting their viewing experience.

There are other ways. I believe the Video Business Directory is another way to view ads if the viewer is actually looking for products and services. So why not give the advertiser and consumer a site where they know they are there to do business? Everyone buys things--video gives advertisers a way to connect with the consumer by using the power of video to help build trust and a personal connection with the consumer. Showcasing a company and their products and services in motion gives consumers the ability to make more informed purchase decisions.

With Hot Pluto, we are betting that smaller companies out there with lean budgets (especially in this recent economial downturn) will see the value of placing their ads in a Video Business Directory--it helps when the price point is a low fixed monthly payment and the advertising is purely non-intrusive.
