Pixelfish owns another company called gobackyard.com I signed up for their service and was extremely disappointed. They made promises that sounded great but left out the "fine print" leaving their service quite lacking. When I spoke to their customer service, they said that they were implementing new polices to help customers be more informed because they are getting a lot of complaints. I wasted time and money on this and feel that the company is disorganized, lacks a functional business model, and quite frankly, cannot deliver as promised in full.

Pixelfish has provided quality work and professional service to us for a couple years. We have not ever had a problem with them and would recommend them to anyone!

I appreciate your response. I would not believe you if you claimed to be paid by PixelFish...NOBODY gets money from them! hahaha
If you would like to help videographers and be objective, then I stand by my previous statement. Please do some research and use your forum to help expose a nefarious company that routinely abuses independent videographers. PixelFish is easily the worst job I've ever worked and they narrowly avoided a collection lawsuit from me. New potential victims need to be aware of how hard they will have to work to be paid after the job is done if they make the mistake of becoming involved with PixelFish.

sparky - 1) this is not a reprinted press release and 2) I do value your comments. If I had proof as well as the information prior to posting this, I would have included such information. Clearly Im not opposed to it as I have allowed all comments on the post, despite the fact that many of them came from the exact same IP address. Im sorry that you feel the way that you do about ReelSEO. I do try my best to help videographers and to be objective. Perhaps this was a less than stellar example of that and Im happy to admit that. Pixelfish has never paid me a dime nor would I accept it. Trust me - I will make sure things are good before writing about them again, or I will at least investigate this more in depth. If anything, the content of this posts speaks to the quality of you filmmakers that were working on behalf of Pixelfish. The ratings that were received on Google TV were due to the excellent work that you all did. Again, thanks for your comments and beyond this post, I hope that ReelSEO is a helpful site for you.

How is reprinting a Press Release news? Do you seek to inform? The actual news is that PixelFish has routinely abused independent videographers and independent contractors such as myself by capitalizing on their efforts and paying them slowly, poorly, with much consternation, and in some cases never. Mark, you do the videographer community a grave injustice by "reporting" PixelFish's positive-spin press release without offering ANY of the prevalent negative information about their practices. If you truly cover news, then there's your story. Do your research!

I made several posts on this site back in november.

i just received a check from pixelfish today for the remainder of my outstanding balance ($950). it may have taken them over 2 years to pay me, but they have paid me in full.

I spoke with cheryl a few days ago. she made a point to say that pixelfish is paying me because they now have the money, and not because of the anti-pixelfish website i built. regardless of the reason, i've agreed that if they pay me in full, i will remove the website.

i hope you all get paid soon (if you haven't already). all i can say is don't give up!

Pixel Fish owes me $3000 plus for shoots I was contracted to do for them between January and June of 2009. If their unwillingness to pay their subcontractors is any indication of their business ethics, I would recommend to steer clear of hiring Pixel Fish. They are unscrupulous criminals.

Pixelfish Video Production is a scam! Do not do business with Pixelfish.

Many people have been scammed by Pixelfish.com. Pixelfish is a scam that poses as a video production company. They claim to do work for yellowbook.com, but refuse to pay their workers. Dozens of freelance videographers have experienced the same dishonest treatment from Pixelfish. Google "pixelfish + yellowbook" to find more information.

PixelFish is NOT TO BE TRUSTED! They are quickly developing a well-deserved negative reputation as an exploitative and crooked company who does not pay their bills. Search “pixelfish + yellowbook” for multiple complaints and reports of independent contractors and vendors who are not being paid. I am one of them and have been offered excuses and more (unpaid) work, but no payment of their overdue and outstanding invoices.

Pixel Fish hires videographers all around the country to film commercials for Yellow Book.com. They have not paid us for at least 6 months. They come up with excuses all the time. This company should not be trusted. All cameraman around the country beware of this outfit.
