I could not convey my message or answer the million dollar question of "What is Concrete Cutting?" So I had to create a 100% unique digital video. It was a lot of work but it has paid off in silver dollars. Unique is the best and the only way to promote your business. http://www.youtube.com/watc...
I am not trying to promote my business on this site, I do not need to. I am merely showing the difference between stock and unique videos. Grant is 100% right on point!

Re: Pre-made / Stock Video Ads Are NOT Video SEO!

I'm only a year and a half late in responding to your post but tend to agree with your observation. However, I'm not sure that your position would be much different if it were writen today.

Our company has taken the approach that video ads need to be both custom and affordable. In addition, we display the ads in both online and offline environments. Most players in this arena have taken the ease of placement approach by placing their ads solely online.

We offer both waiting room networks and fuel station (pump top) TV advertising in addition to online and email campaigns. Through these networks, we are able to geo target to the same levels as print campaigns. Our goal is to reach local consumers throughout their day and do it affordably.

Re: Pre-made / Stock Video Ads Are NOT Video SEO!

I was clearing off my desk today when I found an article from February 2008 from Website Magazine about EZ Show. When I went to check out the site nothing came up so I thought maybe the server was down temporarily. When I chcked back a few days later, also nothing. I'm glad I found your blog post about their demise. Wow, talk about here today and gone tomorrow!

Re: Pre-made / Stock Video Ads Are NOT Video SEO!

Having just recently joined the business of providing online video advertising solutions to SMBs I find your observations insightful and accurate. If you are going to invest in video promotion for your business then it just makes sense that the video must be a true reflection of the service you offer otherwise you might as well just buy a bigger space graphic ad. One insight that is not covered in your selection criteria is the ability for a vendor to offer video production/capture solutions that are experienced at capturing the right footage (that fits the business and a script)at a budgeted cost-effective rate.

Re: Pre-made / Stock Video Ads Are NOT Video SEO!

Great post Grant. Coming from the automotive dealer side, there have been a hand full of companies in my industry getting into the Video and VSEO arena. I have seen what you are talking about; the usage of stock footage for branding and VSEO. I will have to admit, since we own several dealers we do have access to running stock video footage from the manufacturer that we have mashed-up with our in house produced video and branding content. We have so far been measurably successful with it.

It's going to be interesting to see how VSEO evolves over the next few years. I too have not found a full turnkey solution for Video Production/Editing/Distribution and VSEO. I'm sure when it's available I will read about it here first.

Re: Pre-made / Stock Video Ads Are NOT Video SEO!

Video is art and art is video. Keep it original. If you dont have a budget for video, then cut back on some frills and make something the world will want to see!

Re: Pre-made / Stock Video Ads Are NOT Video SEO!

I was on Yahoo and found your blog.
