You did a nice job of making lemonade out of lemons. However, I think there may be another story here, and that is that most of the user experience thought leaders are so busy with billable work that they don't have the bandwidth to work on articles. Let's keep our fingers crossed that things stay that way. So the standards wouldn't be very helpful.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Even when you make standards, some people don't follow them. For example it's convention to put form labels at the top or to the left of the appropriate form field.
